So whenever you search for something Google co-relates with your previous searches, studies your most searched keywords and store your data for advertising tools.
There are some search engines available on web, on which you can perform your search activity. Most of them don’t track you down or use your privacy for their profits. Here are some search engines you can use:
DDG is the most used search engine now a days who don’t track users and avoid using filter bubble of personalized search. The company is based in USA and operated by only 21 employees. When you search on DDG, it gathers the searched resources from its 50 resources including Yahoo, Bing, Wikipedia etc. Company uses two major ways for it’s monetization, one is, serving ads from the Yahoo-Bing search alliance network, and second is establishing affiliate relationships with several companies.
StartPage search engines also let you search in private mode. Both search engines comes under one roof. You can use any one of them to search your query. It is powered by Google search though, so whenever you search for something, it first look for Google searches and then other search engines. AltaVista is first ever search engine in web 2.0 revolution. it was founded in 1995, even before Yahoo and Google came into the market. When Yahoo came into the business, it was using AltaVista’s indexer and crawler for showing search results. In 2003, the company was bought by Yahoo itself. Soon in 2013, yahoo decided to shut down the company and took down its website. So, when you search for AltaVista or go to website, you will be redirected to Yahoo search engine.
YaCy [ya see]
YaCy is an independent search engine and it is one of a kind. It is a peer-to-peer search engine which uses proxy servers for crawling and indexing its data.
